Workshop FAQ
Is accomodation and transport included?
Accommodation for the dolphin training workshop is not provided however there are Air B&Bs and many hotels located within walking distance to the park. Transport is also not included but we will send out an email to all students one month prior to the start date with thorough explanations and costs for available transportation.
Can I do both Basic and Advanced workshop together?
You sure can, you can either do both workshops back to back or at separate times. Plan on staying a few extra days to enjoy all what Panama City Beach and the Emerald Coast have to offer.
Can I take photos and/or video during the workshops?
No, videos are strictly forbidden during the classroom sessions and the students may not take photos or videos during the in-water dolphin training sessions. Students are to focus on their animals. Friends and family are welcome to take photos.
How long do the classes last per day?
Both workshops are 9-5 with additional opportunities to work alongside experienced staff for early morning diet preparations and night time dolphin training watches when available.
Can I share a hotel room to help with expenses?
Of course! After registration you will receive a link to a private ABC Animal Training FaceBook page where you can meet and network with other dolphin training students such as yourself.
What is the minimum age for the workshops?
The minimum age for the workshops is 18. We do accept younger than 18 on a special request basis. Please contact us if you'd like to register and are not yet 18. There are plenty of awesome actives for the whole family in Panama City Beach.
Do I need to speak English?
Yes, all materials are in English as curriculum has been designed for people who have English as a second language. The workshop located in Panama City Beach will balance classroom with practical learning. This will help all students with the understanding of dolphin training, including native English speaking students. ABC Animal Training is a hands-on learning experience.
Can I use American dollars in Mexico?
Not an issue for us I 2022! Yes, you may use US dollars or Mexican pesos, the national Mexico currency. Smaller bills are always preferred and your change may be in pesos not dollars. We also recommend you have some cash in hand as ATM machines do charge for cash withdrawals and not the most reliable. Exchanging money in Cancun International Airport is recommended.
